Wake Journey’s Autism & Neurodiverse Coaching is on a mission to create a more inclusive world where neurodiverse individuals are empowered to thrive.

We provide personalized, strengths-based coaching for individuals with autism and other neurodiverse needs, working to foster independence, personal growth, and a sense of belonging.

We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled Autism & Neurodiverse Coaches to join our inclusive, values-driven team, where you will help individuals achieve their personal and professional aspirations.


Position: Autism & Neurodiverse Coach

Pay Range: Based on experience and qualifications

Location: 50% Remote (Raleigh, North Carolina) and 100% Remote Options

Your Key Responsibilities

As a coach at Wake Journey, you will provide tailored, one-on-one coaching for individuals on the autism spectrum and those who identify as neurodiverse. You will also create an inclusive, compassionate space where clients from all backgrounds feel respected and understood.

Key responsibilities include:

  •   Personalized Coaching: Work closely with individuals to establish goals that align with their unique values and strengths, supporting them in both personal and professional development.

 •   Online Social Group Leadership: Facilitate virtual social groups that create safe spaces for individuals to connect, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships. These groups will foster community for those who may feel isolated or underrepresented, including LGBTQIA+ clients.

  •    Tracking Progress: Develop detailed strategies to track clients’ progress on goals, ensuring that each client is empowered to reflect on their growth and adjust their approach when necessary.

  •   Self-Reflection & Empowerment: Encourage self-reflection and self-awareness through a compassionate lens, helping clients to embrace themselves and understand their unique contributions to society.

   •   Strengths-Based Approach: Focus on each client’s individual strengths, helping them to navigate challenges while building confidence and resilience.

  •    Lesson Planning & Structured Support: As coaches and educators, you utilize your skills in lesson planning to structure coaching sessions that are goal-oriented and tailored to each client’s specific needs, ensuring progress and personal development.

  •   Client-Centered Goal Setting: Help clients set realistic, actionable goals that align with their core values, and track their progress over time. Adapt these goals as clients evolve, supporting them with the tools they need to succeed.

•    Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

•   Certified Neurodiversity Coach (CNC)

•   Certified Neurodiversity Coach (CNC)

•   Autism Specialist Certification (CAS)

•   Certified Personal Coach (CPC)

•   International Coaching Federation (ICF)

•    Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

•    Certified Occupational Therapist (OTR)

•   Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

•   Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

•    Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

•    Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS)

•    Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

•   Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP)

•   Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

•   Licensed Teachers

•   Plus other relevant professional certification in mental health, education, or therapeutic services, including graduate students accruing supervision hours towards licensure.

 Experience in Education: Educators with a background in teaching, lesson planning, and individualized instruction can apply these skills to coaching, helping clients navigate challenges and achieve goals.

Strong Academic Background: Educators with a background in teaching, lesson planning, and individualized instruction can apply these skills to coaching, helping clients navigate challenges and achieve goals.

Autism & Neurodiverse Experience: Previous experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with neurodiverse populations is essential.

Leadership & Facilitation Skills: Experience leading virtual groups or activities, especially with diverse populations, is a plus.

Compassionate Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and an understanding of the unique communication needs of neurodiverse individuals.

Intersectional Awareness: A strong understanding of how intersectionality affects the lives of neurodiverse individuals, including those from marginalized groups such as the LGBTQIA+ community and others.
